Philippe Tourriol, Studio Briand & Berthereau, Porte Maillot
The EOLE project is being carried out jointly by SNCF Réseau and Ile-de-France Mobilités to support the deployment of the RER E in the western part of the Paris region. The work of Parisian artists was solicited to dress the hoardings of the Porte Maillot construction site for two years.
The painter Philippe Tourriol invited the designers of Studio Briand & Berthereau to join him in creating a work of art to be displayed in this location. .
A moment of grace in a hectic urban atmosphere, the creation features floral motifs from plants specific to the Paris region. The shape of the posters is based on the layout of the attractions hosted by Luna Park on Place Maillot, a huge 20th century funfair.
Manifesto managed the production of the project: from the printing and installation of the 36 panels, the design studies, administration, scheduling and delivery.
Manifesto was also responsible for writing the copy to present the work and its artists, as well as a photographic report entrusted to the duo Schnepp Renou.
