Commissioned by the Hauts-de-Seine Department, Manifesto has been responsible for the artistic direction, cultural programming, visitor services, and mediation at the JAD since February 2026, as well as the management of its Maker Lab, for a three-year term.
Our Missions - Artistic Direction - Programming and production of exhibitions and events - Visitor services, mediation, and ACE - MakerLab Management Inaugurated in September 2022 at the initiative of the Hauts-de-Seine Department, the JAD is an exceptional ecosystem located in Sèvres. A true laboratory for research, experimentation, and creation, it currently hosts seventeen residents—artistic craftspeople and designers—selected for the excellence of their practice. The JAD’s raison d’être is to forge a unique dialogue between these disciplines, fostering mutual fertilization and initiating novel collaborations in service of contemporary creation. Within the framework of a three-year contract that began in February 2026, Manifesto oversees the artistic direction, cultural programming, visitor services, and mediation of the JAD for the Hauts-de-Seine Department, as well as the management of its MakerLab. This mission aims to bring the JAD to life and ensure its influence reaches both the general public and professionals in the fields of arts and design. Manifesto carries out this ambition through a rigorous and inclusive cultural program that places "making" at the heart of the experience, notably through an Arts and Cultural Education (ACE) program and the activation of the MakerLab. To lead this project, the artistic direction has been entrusted to Patrice Chazottes, drawing on his experience as Director of Audiences at the Centre Pompidou. The artistic project designed for this three-year program rests on three fundamental pillars: -A culture of hospitality inspired by the spirit of omotenashi, aiming to create an open community where every detail encourages connection. -A laboratory of contemporary forms where design, craftsmanship, and digital technologies intersect to bring new imaginaries to life. -A mission of influence and sharing, contributing to the dissemination of ideas and practices of excellence on a local, national, and international scale.
