In the heart of the Sicilian capital, the new administrative city will have an impact on the Region of Sicily, Palermo and the district. Driven by a resolutely urban reflection, the project will be a core domain in the city: a living district for its users and inhabitants.

The artistic approach imagined by Manifesto for the new administrative center of Palermo is articulated around three interventions, with the objective of weaving a sensitive and penetrating link between the architectures and the users.

In this spirit, Manifesto has entrusted Katja Schenker, an internationally renowned artist, with the creation of a monumental, perennial, in situ sculptural work, intended to make visible the richness and specificity of the Sicilian territory through the color of its stones and the nuance of its tree species. To this sculpture will be added several works scattered throughout the site.

In addition, the renowned artist Edoardo Tresoldi will create a semi-permanent work, visible for several years as a prelude to the project, during the construction phase. Conceived on the scale of the neighborhood, this monumental work is intended to connect the project to the rich architectural and archaeological heritage of the region.

Finally, a participatory work, realized by Ignazio Mortellaro, a major artist of the Palermo scene, in collaboration with Gianfranco Maranto, will be carried out during the prefiguration phase until the delivery of the architectural project. In order to allow Palermo residents to participate in the architectural project, the two artists will regularly come to collaborate with them, through workshops and meetings. As a result of these different works, discrete minimal interventions will be discovered, like a treasure hunt, in the final art-architectural project.

In addition to the artistic direction of the project, Manifesto will ensure the production of these works.
