At Sogelym Dixence’s invitation, Manifesto managed an artistic consultation for a new building for the Prime Minister’s Office, the Commissioner for Human Rights and the French data protection body in Paris. The panel of judges, headed by Jacques Toubon (former Minister of Culture), chose the mural painting by Abdelkader Benchamma.
The work was developed on the underside of a walkway connecting two buildings. It integrates the space while discreetly altering it. Whether it’s seen as a whirlwind, a vortex, cosmogonic matter or an attempt to make the invisible visible, the artwork invites the viewer to let his or her mind wander. The graphic undulating design is reminiscent of a stylized wave, a nod to the building’s history and architecture.
