Justine Emard at Villa Albertine
Manifesto Immersive is supporting Justine Emard’s residency project at Villa Albertine from October to December 2025.
Manifesto Immersive is supporting Justine Emard’s residency project at Villa Albertine in three key areas: developing the project, promoting it to the public, and organizing a final presentation of the project in France.
At the intersection of artificial intelligence and neuroscience, her project “Phainomenon: immersive phantasia” explores the neurogeneration of images from signals, leading to the creation of an immersive installation. Justine Emard will conduct her research in close collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, which will provide access to its state-of-the-art equipment and to the support of its research team. She will also collaborate with other institutes in Boston and New York to further deepen her project.
About Justine Emard
Justine Emard explores the evolving relationship between human life and technology. By combining various imaging technologies, she positions her work at the intersection of robotics, neurosciences, organic life, and artificial intelligence. Her work has been displayed both in France and abroad. In 2020, she was an artist-in-residence at ZKM, the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, and was awarded the “IMAGE 3.0” national photography commission from CNAP, in partnership with the Jeu de Paume in Paris. In 2022, she completed a residency at the Observatoire de l’Espace, CNES’s cultural laboratory, and was a guest artist-lecturer at Le Fresnoy, the national studio for contemporary arts. Justine Emard is currently a resident at POUSH.
