Boulevard de la Croisette

Client City of Cannes
Place Cannes, France
Date 2022-2028

Following an international competition, the City of Cannes chose the Atelier International de Cannes collective (led by Atelier Roland Castro and Snøhetta) to give the Boulevard de la Croisette a new lease of life. Manifesto is responsible for artistic and cultural programming.

Hosting the iconic International Film Festival every year, this world-famous boulevard is 2.5 kilometres long, starting at the Palais des Festivals and following the Bay of Cannes to the Cap de la Croisette. The project, entitled “A New Setting for la Croisette”, aims to improve the boulevard by making it greener, more elegant and safer, ensuring user comfort and providing new facilities while reflecting its long history.

The Atelier International de Cannes collective, led by Atelier d’Urbanité Roland Castro and Snøhetta, brings together WSP, Manifesto, L’Observatoire International, JML Water Feature Design, Cronos Conseil and Transitec. Manifesto will ensure that artistic creation and heritage development are combined in this prestigious destination that is so important to the world of film and will work with local partners to help the Boulevard de la Croisette take center stage in Cannes.
