Place Orsay

Manifesto is assisting the City of Orsay in the artistic direction, production of works, and creation of mediation workshops as part of the relocation of the Hôpital d’Orsay.

For the artistic activation of the Hôpital d’Orsay, public workshops were organized in June with artists Albane Monnier, Lucas Lorigeon, Colin Gravot, and Floriane Facchini.

Manifesto is handling the co-artistic direction and production monitoring of the first two artists. The project is co-produced by the city of Orsay.

Le Pavillon de Santé (The Health Pavilion), a micro-architecture designed by Lucas Lorigeon, stimulates viewers’ curiosity. As they approach the windows, they discover a medical examination room. This installation offers a new perspective on the intimacy of interactions between doctor and patient, a dialogue that is generally invisible to the public.

Workshops:

- June 22 during the Fête de la Musique in Orsay
- July 9 during the blood donation campaign at La Bouvêche

De Nous à Vous (From Us to You) is a window decal created by Albane Monnier during participatory workshops. The artist explores the sensory memory of times spent in the hospital, addressing how our body perceives and retains these experiences. How do the traces of our experiences and our sensations influence our language, our way of expressing and feeling?

Workshops:

- June 23 at the Foire à Tout in Orsay
- June 26 at Grand Mesnil

The inauguration of the works by the four artists is scheduled for July 26.

Albane Monnier, who graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, has developed a body of work across various media (videos, objects, textiles, print editions, drawings), revolving around language. Using economical, domestic, and accessible materials, she employs a homemade approach to explore our intimacies.

A graduate of ENSCI Les Ateliers, Lucas Lorigeon is a French designer who carefully explores French expressions, language games, and wordplay. His fascination for the richness and subtlety of the French language has led him to investigate the deep connection between language and design.
