Acting on behalf of the Centre Pompidou and in partnership with the festival Le French May, Manifesto Expo is coordinating an exhibition of major Surrealist artwork from the Musée National d’Art Moderne’s collections (May to September 2021).
Founded in 1962, the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) is the city’s largest public art museum and is now home to an art collection of more than 17,000 pieces, showcasing Hong Kong’s unique cultural heritage.
During the 2021 edition of the festival Le French May, the HKMoA will present an exhibition entitled Surrealism and Mythology/Mythologies, featuring a hundred Surrealist works from the Musée National d’Art Moderne’s collection at the Centre Pompidou.
As the driving force behind this exhibition, Manifesto Expo has worked with the Centre Pompidou to develop the project and to negotiate the conditions for international touring and the changes to be made to the exhibition before installation in the HKMoA. Working closely with both partner institutions, Manifesto Expo is responsible for coordinating the project and is involved in the drawing up of contracts and the creation of a joint mediation program.
