Ice Rink of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine. "Liquide, Liquide" exhibition.
Manifesto is overseeing the production of the scenography for the exhibition Liquide, Liquide at the Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine ice rink. The project is presented by Agence IOTA Productions and Agence AAVP Architecture on behalf of the Municipality of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine.
The Municipality of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine has teamed up with Agence IOTA Productions and Agence AAVP Architecture to present a contemporary art exhibition titled Liquide Liquide. Conceived under the guidance of Hugo Vitrani, the exhibition takes place at the Saint-Ouen ice rink. This emblematic site was designed by Paul Chemetov, winner of the Grand Prix national d’architecture in 1980, in the context of the Atelier d’Urbanisme et d’Architecture (AUA). It closed its doors just before the first lockdown and now hosts cultural events.
Guided by the metamorphosis of icy water into a liquid substance, visitors embark on a captivating journey through these fluid creations. Like the water that has united living beings since the dawn of time, this exhibition aspires to bring together a multitude of observers through these evocative works. The illuminating insights of historian Arlette Farge served as a compass, demonstrating that water represents a point of convergence, a place of exchange and sociability. This notion served as the cornerstone of the exhibition’s design.
