Cecilia Granara, POUSH
Following a call for proposals from POUSH’s artists to create artwork for the building’s façade, Manifesto, the venue’s operator, and Sogelym, the venue’s owner, selected Cecilia Granara’s proposal.
Reflecting POUSH’s energy and the involvement of POUSH’s artists in the Clichy region, Cecilia Granara’s work will create a poetic and aerial symbol, confirming the continued dynamism of artists even during the crisis period. Installed on the side of the building, the work will be visible on the southern glass façade, overlooking the ring road.
As part of her Transformant (Transforming) artwork, Cecilia Granara will create butterflies on the inside of every window on several unoccupied floors. A symbol of metamorphosis and transience, butterflies represent artists’ activities and evolution, along with the creative energy of this temporary occupation in the heart of Greater Paris. The butterfly motif will be punctuated by eyes, revealing the work of artists who, in their studios, transform the way in which we perceive the world. The work was installed from May 2021 until March 2022.
